Biography:
Daniel Thoma is the Research Division Director at the Department of Crown and Bridge Prosthetics and Dental Materials Science, Center for Dentistry, University of Zurich.
He received his state examination from the University of Basel in 2000 and subsequently completed postdoctoral training in restorative dentistry at the Department of Crown and Bridge Prosthodontics and Dental Materials Science, Center for Dentistry, University of Zurich, under the direction of Prof. Ch. Hämmerle.
From 2007 to 2008, he was an ITI scholar in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, USA.
Since 2008, he has been a senior physician at the Department of Crown and Bridge Prosthetics and Dental Materials Science, Center for Dentistry, University of Zurich.
In 2013, Dr. Thoma completed his habilitation in the field of oral implantology and crown and bridge prosthetics, and has served as the Scientific Department Head for the Division of Restorative Dentistry since 2015. He also holds a specialist certification in reconstructive dentistry from the SSRD and a WBA certification in implantology from the SGI.
